Introduction of Dr. Rajesh Mistry

Dr. Rajesh Mistry is known to be one of the most experienced Oncologists in the field of Head and Neck Thoracic surgery. He has over 25+ years of experience, and since 2009 he has performed over 700 thoracic onco-surgeries, more than 350 minimally invasive surgeries, over 350 open surgeries, 250 Esophagectomies, over 200 Lobectomies and more than 30 Robotic surgeries related to Esophagectomy, Lobectomy and Mediastinal masses.

Dr. Mistry with his team of doctors at Kokilaben Hospital created history by performing a high-risk surgery and successfully removing a 7.5kg cancerous tumor from a 19-year- old’s chest in 2011. With his experience and expertise, he introduced submandibular salivary gland transfer, a process for preserving salivary functions in patients on Radiation therapy. He has been an important part and principal investigator for clinical trials that involve the various facets of lung and oesophagal cancer. The trials include the extent of nodal  dissection, the role of induction chemotherapy, PET-CT in lung cancer and pulmonary metastasectomy.

Having served in some of the best hospitals in the country, Dr. Mistry is truly one of the best Head and Neck Onco-surgeon of India. He was also involved in the clinical trials of oral tongue cancer and buccal mucosa, selective neck dissection for oral cancer and larynx conservation trial for advanced laryngeal and hypopharyngeal cancer. He has several publications to his credit in peer-reviewed journals and has also written several chapters in medical books.
