Dr. Shashank Shah is a prominent Laparoscopic and bariatric surgeon in India. He has a large experience of performing bariatric surgeries and has performed the largest number of sleeve gastrectomy procedures in Asia. He is known all over Asia for his immense knowledge and experience in sleeve gastrectomy. He is the first to perform the procedure in Asia and is responsible for making it a popular procedure for morbid obesity. He has done several researches on gastric bypass and metabolic surgeries along with extensive research in the field of sleeve gastrectomy.

Having started the Laparo-Obese Centre, Dr. Shah with his team of dedicated experts has treated several patients with obesity and metabolic diseases related to obesity. He started the first Bariatric training centre in India and has trained more than 500 surgeons from all over the world. He has over 3000 cases of bariatric surgeries to his credit and also holds the record of performing 45 Hernia operations in 10 hours. For this his name has been entered in the Limca Book of Records in 2006.

Dr. Shashank Shah has achieved numerous milestones in the field of Bariatric and laparoscopic surgery with exceptional results in Sleeve Gastrectomy. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Shah has made huge contributions in his field. He was featured in BBC news for successfully performing bariatric surgery on the heaviest Asian and again on the youngest child in the world. He is regularly invited as a faculty in medical seminars to perform live demonstration of Sleeve Gastrectomy because of his high experience in the procedure.
