Cost of Varicose Vein Surgery

Varicose Vein surgery cost depends on whether the treatment is required for one or both the legs. For treatment of one leg, the approximate cost will be USD 2000 and in case of surgery for both the legs, the total cost would be between USD 3000 and USD 3500.

Varicose Vein Surgery

Varicose Vein surgery is done to treat varicose or spider veins that have grown bigger, swollen and are creating health problems such as ulcers or clotting.

Varicose veins are dull blue and stand out from the skin like raised passages. The veins can grow at any part of the body however normally grow on legs. Varicose veins may appear ugly, cause pain, soreness, or muscle fatigue. But these do not pose a serious health issue. Sometimes, when they lead to ulcers in the skin or painful blood clots, surgery may be the remedy to treat varicose veins.

Surgery for varicose veins involves tying off and removing of larger veins via small cuts made in the skin. Done under anesthesia it is an outpatient procedure. It takes about four weeks for complete recovery depending upon the amount and location of the area treated. It takes over an hour to do the surgery.

  • Cosmetic reasons
  • Pain, fatigability, heaviness in the legs due to varicose veins
  • Recurrent superficial thrombophlebitis
  • Bleeding
  • Venous hypertension
