Dr. Sandeep Guleria is a leading Nephro Surgeon in Delhi with extensive experience in performing kidney and pancreas transplant surgeries. He has achieved several feats in his career span of over three decades which includes the first ever cadaveric kidney transplant in India from a brain dead donor and lead the team that performed the first two kidney pancreas transplant surgeries in the country. With specialization in kidney transplant, dialysis and therapeutic URS, he is among the top surgeons for transplant in India Having spent a substantial part of his career with All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Dr. Sandeep Guleria started the Pediatric Transplant Unit as well as the Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy program at the Hospital. He is known to have started the Donor Card system in New Delhi that allows a person to become an organ donor. He also holds the credit of starting the Renal Transplant Program at Bir Hospital in Katmandu, Nepal where he performed the first successful renal transplants and continues to mentor the surgeons under the program. Dr. Sandeep Guleria has been honored with various awards and accolades for his contributions towards nephrology and kidney transplant in India. He is actively involved with research work and has a whopping 106 publications to his credit in renowned national and international journals. He is a member of various medical associations and a well known transplant surgeon who pioneered the cadaveric kidney transplantation procedure in the city of New Delhi.
